Searching for God and Finding a Honey Bee

I’m re-posting this blog entry because in light of all the tragedy that we’ve been seeing lately, I think it is important for us to remember that our God is very much alive and real, and He is still very much in control. He is our comforter, our very present help in times of trouble. He is Immanuel, God with us!

Something Spiritual

In the middle of the Ouachita National Forest, surrounded by trees and rocky mountain ridges, I am all alone, and yet I am not alone at all. I am surrounded by the glory of God’s creation and I can feel His presence there.

I have a place that I like to go from time to time. A place where I can be alone and with my creator. A place free from distraction and the worries and concerns of this life. I went to that place on Wednesday with a heavy heart seeking some time alone with my God. And God was there.

The way to my sacred place of meditation and contemplation is not easy. It takes about two hours of climbing up and over a couple of steep ridges. The footing is rocky and slippery and when you’re down in the creek bed, it’s wet and muddy. I spent…
